FAQs

HOW DO I BOOK A DARE SEMINAR/WEBINAR?
You can email us at info@palyme.org, or fill out the form on the DARE site. Info that helps us to confirm a facilitator for you is:

  • Date for seminar/webinar
  • Time
  • Address of seminar/webinar location

Once we have this information, we contact all of our facilitators in your region. When someone confirms, we put you in direct contact with her/him to work out all final details.

IS THERE A COST?

In 2021, Seminars and Webinars are free.  If you are a corporate or for-profit organization, please contact us for details and fees.

WHAT DO I NEED TO HOST A SEMINAR?
  • The presentation is a PowerPoint, so having a projector and screen available to our facilitator is necessary. We have also projected the PowerPoint onto a wall, but a screen tends to be easier to see.
  • A microphone can help too, especially if you expect a large group. We want to make sure all attendees can hear our facilitator.
  • Generally, a conference room, classroom, library or church is appropriate. Really, any space that is large enough to accommodate your expected number of attendees.
  • A table to display all of our DARE brochures and samples for you!
WHAT DO I NEED TO HOST A WEBINAR?
  • Schedule a webinar using our scheduling form.
  • We’ll then send you a Zoom link that you can share with all interested parties.
  • Interested attendees register directly with us, so we manage the registrations.
  • After the webinar, we ask attendees to take our Dare survey.

The DARE program is currently looking for facilitators with a background in science, microbiology, public health advocacy/education, healthcare and Lyme advocacy. WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Community leaders, advocates and educators are sharing their feedback after experiencing our Dare 2B Tick Aware program. Click here to see what they’re saying – and learn why you should bring Dare 2B Tick Aware to your community group.

One thing that I have pushed on the employees this past year after having attended a Dare 2B Tick Aware seminar is the benefit of treating from the knee down and not just exposed skin. After we started really encouraging the employees to, at a minimum, to pretreat their boots with Permethrin we saw a huge decrease in tick bites. I don’t know if that can be attributed to that or the super-wet year we had (PA Lyme note: a wet year means MORE ticks), but compared to years past we had almost no tick bites after doing that.
