There were 7,400 new cases of Lyme in PA in 2014, an increase of 25% since 2013. Even more will become infected and not know it.
PA Lyme funds are used to provide education to the general public through many venues, to run an annual conference for physicians and other medical providers, and to educate Pennsylvania school personnel by offering in-services for faculty and/or nursing staffs, and parent informational meetings.
We supply information and speakers to patients and their families through many forums, including monthly support group meetings in various regions throughout the state.
Our goal is to help individuals and families prevent tick-borne diseases in the first place, to provide healthcare practitioners with the most up-to-date information about tick-borne diseases, and to provide patients and their friends and families with the information and resources they need to advocate for their own health care.
